India yet again thrashed Pakistan for the fourth straight time. However, the latest win came in the ICC Women's World Cup, where the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defended a challenging total of 247 to extend their streak against Pakistan to 12-0 in ODIs. India's 88-run win has now also put them in first position in the points table. However, what hogged more limelight than the match was India's no-handshake policy stance.
The match began on the expected lines, as Kaur and Pakistan's captain Fatima Sana did not greet during the toss and after the game, following the template which was seen in the Men's Asia Cup in the UAE. The IND vs PAK WC game had it's own twists and unexpected moments, including a toss mishap, an odd run out, and a 20-minute delay due to insects on the field at the Colombo Stadium.
"Very happy, very important game for all of us, I'm sure everyone back home is happy as well," Harmanpreet Kaur said at the post-match presentation.
Asked to bat first, India huffed and puffed their way to a respectable total of 247 runs before being all out. Harleen Deol top-scored for the team with 46 runs, while Richa Ghosh remained unbeaten on 35 to enable a strong finish for India.
"It was not an easy pitch to bat on; we wanted to bat longer and see how many runs we could get. It wasn't an easy pitch. It's been raining, and there was a hold on the pitch. We wanted to keep wickets in hand. The key was keeping wickets. Richa batted really well and had us that crucial 30 runs," Kaur said.

Lot of areas still to be improved: Harmanpreet Kaur
While the Indian skipper was happy with a thumping win over arch-rivals Pakistan, Kaur stated there are still areas to be improved on in the remaining games.
"There are a lot of areas, but we are happy we won, just want to go with the momentum. Now we go back to India, we know how the pitches play there, we will look at the combinations and what team we need to play," Harmanpreet said regarding areas of improvement.
